{"id":272947,"date":"2025-09-13T20:10:03","date_gmt":"2025-09-13T17:10:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vsisumy.com\/13-veresnja-jak-trivalo-zhittja-u-sumah-i-na-sumshhini-u-subotu\/"},"modified":"2025-12-24T22:47:16","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T20:47:16","slug":"13-veresnja-jak-trivalo-zhittja-u-sumah-i-na-sumshhini-u-subotu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vsisumy.com\/en\/13-veresnja-jak-trivalo-zhittja-u-sumah-i-na-sumshhini-u-subotu\/","title":{"rendered":"September 13: how life continued in Sumy and the Sumy region on Saturday"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"old_post\">\n<h3>War with Russia<\/h3>\n<p>During the day, from the morning of September 12 to the morning of September 13, 2025, Russian troops carried out 100 shelling attacks on 42 settlements in 16 territorial communities of the region.<\/p>\n<p>The enemy used up to 20 guided aerial bomb (KAB) strikes, up to 20 VOG grenade drops from UAVs, up to 20 UAV strikes, and carried out missile strikes, FPV drone attacks, and artillery shelling on the territory of the Sumy region.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of Russian shelling of the region, three people were killed and others were injured:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the Sumy community, a 65-year-old man was killed in Sumy as a result of a drone attack;<\/li>\n<li>In the Bytytsia starosta district of the Sumy community, two men aged 67 and 28 were killed as a result of a missile strike;<\/li>\n<li>As a result of the missile strike on the Bytytsia starosta district, women aged 75 and 62 were also injured, while two other women aged 80 and 52 received assistance on site;<\/li>\n<li>In the Mykolaiv settlement community, a 30-year-old man was injured as a result of a strike UAV hitting a truck;<\/li>\n<li>In the Bilopillia community, a 72-year-old man sought medical assistance after being injured the previous day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Objects of civilian infrastructure were damaged or destroyed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>in the Sumy community, civilian infrastructure facilities, non-residential buildings, an administrative building, two private houses, and 38 vehicles were damaged; seven private houses and seven vehicles were destroyed;<\/li>\n<li>in the Mykolaiv rural community, one private household was damaged;<\/li>\n<li>in the Lebedyn community, one private household was damaged;<\/li>\n<li>in the Seredyna-Buda community, a private house was destroyed;<\/li>\n<li>in the Bilopillia community, a house and outbuildings were damaged;<\/li>\n<li>in the Mykolaiv rural community, a truck was damaged;<\/li>\n<li>in the Esman community, four private houses were damaged.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Details<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Bytytsia starosta district was again hit by the enemy, this time with guided aerial bombs. A residential house was destroyed, and several others were damaged. The consequences are being clarified;<\/li>\n<li>Enemy drones also attacked Sumy. A hit was recorded in the Kovpakivskyi district, but without significant damage;<\/li>\n<li>In the Velyka Chernechchyna starosta district, about 16 residential houses were damaged as a result of a nighttime UAV attack. One of them was completely destroyed. During the day, response operations continue, and assistance is being provided to the owners of the damaged homes;<\/li>\n<li>On the night of September 13, Russian forces carried out an airstrike on the territory of the Voronizh starosta district of the Shostka community. As a result of the airstrike, five residential houses were damaged, and part of the starosta district was left without electricity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Situation on the border with Russia<\/h3>\n<p>Situation on the frontline in the Sumy direction as of September 12:<\/p>\n<p>The Defense Forces of Ukraine achieved success in the area of Oleksiivka of the Khotin community. In contrast, the enemy did not achieve success in advancing or assault operations. The Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled all attacks.<\/p>\n<p>Enemy troops are present in the following communities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Khotin community: Oleksiivka, Kindrativka, Kostiantynivka, Bilovody, and Stepne;<\/li>\n<li>Yunakivka community: Yablunivka, Basivka, Yunakivka, Loknia, and Sadky;<\/li>\n<li>Bilopillia community: Holyshivske.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As reported earlier, the Russian offensive operation against Sumy has been completely thwarted. This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, during a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief\u2019s Staff.<\/p>\n<p>On September 13, fighters of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment shot down 14 enemy UAVs in the Sumy direction. Border guards destroyed Russian mortar positions in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna direction. In addition, several Russian soldiers were eliminated, communication antennas destroyed, and a fuel and lubricants depot and enemy shelters were hit.<\/p>\n<h3>Evacuation<\/h3>\n<p>Over the course of the day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organizations, evacuated 13 people from border communities.<\/p>\n<p>As of today, September 13, 92% of children subject to evacuation have already been evacuated. This process continues daily.<\/p>\n<h3>International assistance<\/h3>\n<p>The regional child services department received 150 child body armor vests of protection class one from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society. The service will provide them for use to border communities, rescuers, the \u201cWhite Angels,\u201d and children\u2019s institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Sports holiday<\/p>\n<p>September 13 is the Day of Physical Culture and Sports. This is a celebration of strength, endurance, health, and indomitable spirit. Physical culture unites and motivates, shaping the character of winners. The resilience of Ukrainians is felt both on the battlefield and in sports arenas. This year, athletes from the Sumy region won more than 1,200 medals at international and national competitions. Sport educates youth, hardens defenders, gives veterans a new meaning in life, and provides all of us with examples of courage, strength, and faith in victory.<\/p>\n<p>On the occasion of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports in Sumy, athletes and coaches who \u0434\u043e\u0441\u0442\u043e\u0439\u043d\u043e represent the community at national and international arenas were honored with certificates and cups. Among those awarded were the V. Holubnychyi Specialized Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve in athletics, \u201cSumy\u201d Youth Sports School, the Youth Sports School of freestyle wrestling, the Youth Sports School of martial arts, \u201cSpartak\u201d Youth Sports School, \u201cSpartakivets\u201d Youth Sports School, \u201cKolos\u201d Youth Sports School, \u201cUkraine\u201d Youth Sports School named after O. Kulyk, the Municipal Enterprise \u201cMunicipal Sports Complex for Field Hockey \u2018Sumchanka\u2019\u201d, the Municipal Enterprise \u201cMunicipal Sports Complex \u2018Tennis Academy\u2019\u201d, and the Center for Physical Health of the Population \u201cSport for All\u201d.<\/p>\n<h3>Culture<\/h3>\n<p>The second Saturday of September is Ukrainian Cinema Day. We congratulate film directors, screenwriters, cinematographers, editors, actors, and everyone involved in this magical art form on their professional holiday.
