The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.<\/p>\n<p>The enemy carried out nearly 20 guided aerial bomb (KAB) strikes, nearly 20 MLRS strikes, nearly 20 UAV strikes, more than 10 VOG grenade drops from UAVs, and also conducted FPV drone attacks on the territory of Sumy region.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of Russian shelling of the region, civilians were injured:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the Sumy community: as a result of a UAV strike on a civilian infrastructure facility, two men born in 1963 and 1966 were injured;<\/li>\n<li>In the same community, during the downing of one of the drones, a 56-year-old man was wounded by shrapnel;<\/li>\n<li>Also, as a result of falling UAV debris, a girl born in 2005 was injured;<\/li>\n<li>A 65-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man, who had been injured by enemy attacks the previous day, also sought medical assistance at healthcare facilities in the region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Objects of civilian infrastructure were damaged or destroyed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>in the Sumy community, civilian infrastructure facilities and non-residential premises were damaged;<\/li>\n<li>in the Seredyna-Buda community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;<\/li>\n<li>in the Svesa community, non-residential premises and five units of cargo vehicles were damaged.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Situation on the border with the Russian Federation<\/h3>\n<p>The situation on the front line in the Sumy direction on September 4:<\/p>\n<p>Russian forces made no advances and carried out no successful assaults. The Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled all attacks.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, enemy troops were present in the following communities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Khotin community: Novomykolaivka, Oleksiivka, Kindrativka, Kostiantynivka, and Bilovody;<\/li>\n<li>Yunakivka community: Yablunivka, Novenke, Varachyne, Basivka, Yunakivka, Loknia, and Sadky;<\/li>\n<li>In the Krasnopillia community, Russian military personnel were recorded in the villages of Mariine and Prokhody;<\/li>\n<li>And in the Bilopillia community, in the village of Katerynivka;<\/li>\n<li>The enemy was also spotted in the Esman community in the village of Kharkivka.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Evacuation<\/h3>\n<p>Over the past day, local authorities together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organizations evacuated seven people from border communities.<\/p>\n<h3>With gratitude to our Defenders<\/h3>\n<p>By Decrees of the President of Ukraine, state awards were posthumously conferred on 24 servicemen and a social sector employee from Shostka district. Among them was soldier Oleksii Hrinenko. The Order \u201cFor Courage,\u201d III class, had been awarded to him during his lifetime, but the serviceman did not manage to receive it. After his death, he was posthumously honored with the Order, II class.<\/p>\n<p>The Order \u201cFor Courage,\u201d III class, was also posthumously awarded to Valentyna Chebotarova, a social worker who was killed during shelling while delivering bread to people.<\/p>\n<h3>Healthcare<\/h3>\n<p>In August, the total number of consultations and examinations provided by the Fortitude mobile clinic reached 13,045, and since the start of the project in March, these figures amount to 14,429 patients and 46,556 consultations.<\/p>\n<p>Family physicians, an ophthalmologist, neurologist, otolaryngologist, cardiologist, and endocrinologist provided assistance. Patients were able to undergo ultrasound examinations, complete blood counts, ECGs, measure hemoglobin and uric acid levels, and take cholesterol and blood glucose tests.<\/p>\n<p>The Fortitude autonomous clinic is a converted truck with three offices for simultaneous consultations by different specialists.<\/p>\n<h3>Education<\/h3>\n<p>A new academic year has started in Sumy region. From September 1, 294 schools began educational activities, with 79,607 students enrolled, including 5,083 first-graders. Due to the security situation, most schools operate in a blended format\u2014223 institutions do so; 54 schools provide education remotely, and 17 operate in an in-person format.<\/p>\n<h3>Culture<\/h3>\n<p>A pilot project \u201cBlue Shield\u201d has been launched in Sumy region to mark cultural assets in the city of Sumy and Sumy district. This is one of the key steps in fulfilling Ukraine\u2019s international obligations to protect cultural heritage in wartime.<\/p>\n<p>A specialized unit for the protection of cultural heritage of the Armed Forces of Ukraine places a marking (emblem) on sites in the form of a shield with crossed blue-and-white triangles.
