On April 21 of this year, the final stage of the 2nd Regional Rural Youth Forum took place at Sumy National Agrarian University. This event has already been held at the university for the second time: the first forum was conducted in the spring of last year.<\/p>\n

The forum was held in three stages: Stage I took place in the autumn in rural schools of the Sumy region, where students completed test tasks in subjects required for passing the External Independent Evaluation (EIE) when entering Sumy NAU: biology, chemistry, mathematics, history, geography, and others.<\/p>\n

In January 2012, Stage II of the forum was held on the basis of SNAU colleges and at SNAU itself, with the participation of winners of local competitions \u2014 975 students from across the region who scored the maximum number of points in their schools. The winners of Stage II earned the right to take part in Stage III of the Rural Youth Forum, which took place on April 21 at Sumy NAU.
Sumy National Agrarian University was not chosen as the forum venue by chance, as this educational institution trains specialists for the agricultural sector of the economy. Its graduates receive not only a high-quality education and practical experience, but are also guaranteed their first job placement. As noted by the Rector of SNAU, Volodymyr Ladyka, the purpose of the forum is to identify talented young people living in rural areas who have real motivation to obtain a profession in the agricultural field. Statistics confirm the correctness of this choice: a significant portion of last year\u2019s forum participants are currently students of SNAU.<\/p>\n

The Head of the Sumy Regional State Administration Yurii Chmyr, Deputy Head of the Sumy Regional Council Valerii Tolbatov, and Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Science of the Sumy RSA Ihor Kozolup wished the young people successful studies and prosperous careers. The governor awarded certificates of honor to the best first-year students who were participants of last year\u2019s forum.<\/p>\n

On this day, Volodymyr Ladyka and the General Director of LLC \u201cCharivnyi Svitanok\u201d Ihor Kutsenko also signed a cooperation agreement, according to which SNAU students will have the opportunity to undergo industrial internships at this company, which is rightfully considered one of the leading and most innovative enterprises in the region.<\/p>\n

Especially for the forum participants, SNAU students prepared interesting presentations of their faculties; graduates shared information about employment prospects and starting their own agricultural businesses. Together with the governor and the rector, forum participants planted a commemorative alley, took photographs, simply walked around and enjoyed the beauty of the student campus on a spring day.<\/p>\n
