Over 10 months of the year, the region’s enterprises sold products worth UAH 16.4 billion, which is 13.8% more than for the same period last year. All major industries increased sales: extractive – 1.6 times, food – by 10.9%, chemical and petrochemical – by 5.5%, mechanical engineering – by 4.8%. By share in the total volume of sold industrial products among Ukrainian regions, the region steadily ranks 15th. The general tendency towards sales growth is ensured by implementing innovations and maintaining high product quality indicators.

Sumy region’s industry maintains leading positions in innovation indicators. Currently, 42 enterprises implement innovations and produce innovative products. The share of innovative products in the total sales volume exceeds 12% (three times higher than across Ukraine). Innovation implementation is accompanied by capital investment development, sourced from both own profits and attracted investor funds. A number of investment projects have been implemented or are nearing completion this year: PJSC “SMNVO named after Frunze” built an additional stand for testing compressor equipment, its launch doubled the throughput capacity of the enterprise’s research and testing center; construction of the first phase of the foundry at PJSC “Nasosenergomash” is nearing completion; LLC “Motordetal-Konotop” is expanding production capacity of foundry and mechanical shops; the second technological line for clinker brick production is being built at LLC “Kerameya”; additional equipment is being installed in the new hot plastic molding shop at LLC “Guala Closures Ukraine”; construction of a new assembly shop at LLC “Kobzarenko Plant” in Lypova Dolyna is nearing completion. The estimated cost of these facilities is over UAH 240 million. More than 300 new jobs will be created.

A problematic issue until the end of this year and into next year remains the slowdown in development of both domestic and foreign markets. Considering the export dependence of main industries (mechanical engineering – 90%, chemical and petrochemical industry – over 60%), the main task for business is market diversification, and for the government – stimulating domestic market development and supporting domestic exports in foreign markets.

: What is the situation at “Sumykhimprom”?

S.K.: Currently, PJSC “Sumykhimprom” conducts business activities, taxes are paid on time to budgets of all levels, debts from previous periods are being reduced, wages are paid to employees on time, with the average wage growing by more than UAH 500 during the year to over UAH 3,000 per month. During 2012, the number of employees increased by 150 people. In 2013, PJSC “Sumykhimprom” plans to start implementing an investment project to build a new sulfuric acid production shop with a capacity of 750,000 tons per year. The project is planned to be implemented during 2013-2016. During this period, it is expected to attract over UAH 1 billion in capital investments.

: The enterprise “Tsentralit” faced serious problems this year. What is the situation there now?

S.K.: Currently, PJSC “Tsentralit” has resumed operations. The investor financed partial repayment of wage arrears to employees, allocated funds for purchasing raw materials and supplies, as a result of which all technological processes have been restored, the number of employees has increased by 54 people, and current wages are being paid.

: Tell us about the symbiosis of two Shostka enterprises – “Zirka” and “Impuls”.

S.K.: The State Concern “Ukroboronprom” developed a concept for restructuring special chemistry enterprises located in Shostka, which provides for creating a single research and production complex of special chemistry, whose tasks will be development, implementation and ensuring a unified technical policy in the domestic ammunition industry. A restructuring plan for ShKZ “Impuls,” ShKZ “Zirka” and SRRI of Chemical Products has been developed. The Makiivka State Design Institute developed project proposals and an Action Plan for restructuring special chemistry enterprises located in Shostka. The estimated completion date of the reorganization procedure is 2013.

: In your opinion, what needs to be done now to ensure successful development of Sumy region’s industry?

S.K.: Considering the export dependence of main industries, the main task for stable development of the region’s industry is development of the domestic market by regional producers. The Regional State Administration has repeatedly appealed to the Ukrainian government with proposals to stimulate domestic market development. Among them is involving our enterprises in reconstruction and modernization of Ukraine’s gas transportation system and nuclear power plants. To this end, a meeting with the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine was initiated on the issue of interaction between domestic energy and mechanical engineering complexes.

: What are the projected industrial development indicators for the end of 2012 and 2013?

S.K.: According to enterprise forecasts, by the end of 2012, the industrial complex will sell industrial products worth UAH 19.5 billion, which meets the objectives of the economic and social development program of Sumy region for 2012. Next year, the volume of sold products is expected to grow to UAH 21 billion.

Industrial enterprises of the region have investment intentions regarding commissioning of new production capacities in 2013 and subsequent years, which will allow increasing production and sales volumes of industrial products, expanding the range and improving quality, creating new jobs. In 2013, construction of a sulfuric acid production shop at PJSC “Sumykhimprom” is planned to begin; construction of a model shop for foundry production and a new finished goods warehouse at PJSC “Nasosenergomash” is planned to begin; construction of a new “TeploKeram” line for production of large-format porous ceramic blocks at LLC “Kerameya” is planned to begin, etc. In total, about UAH 1 billion is expected to be invested in new construction, modernization and renewal of technological equipment.

Dmytro Lytovchenko

The newspaper “Panorama” together with the best industrial enterprises of Sumy region presents the project “Big Economy.” Topic of the issue: “Economic plans for Sumy region for 2013” Sergiy Krestenkov: “In 2013, it is planned to invest UAH 1 billion in industrial construction and modernization” Head of the Main Department of Industry of Sumy […]

["post-273472","velyka_ekonomika","type-velyka_ekonomika","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
