Sober Ukraine

A sober person means a happy family.
Sober children mean a healthy society.
A sober nation means a bright future!

Sobriety is a natural, the only reasonable state of an individual, a family, and society — complete freedom from being programmed to consume alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.

“Sober Ukraine” is a union of people and public organizations who realize the critical condition of our drug-addicted society and advocate for the establishment of a sober way of life in society.

The “Sober Ukraine” movement is non-political (does not support any political forces and does not promote the achievement of their political goals; does not call for resistance to state authorities), non-religious (does not address issues of religion), and non-commercial (does not aim to make a profit and does not include commercially oriented organizations).

The sobriety movement does not fight drunkenness or alcoholism, nor does it forcibly impose a sober worldview or a sober state on anyone. The method of the sobriety movement is education by providing scientifically grounded information about alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.

The task of the sobriety movement is to make it widely known and publicly recognized that the use of narcotic substances (primarily legal drugs — alcohol and tobacco) is incompatible with a normal, full life of a healthy person. Moreover, it destroys families, undermines social relations, and is one of the main causes of national degradation.

Every person has the right to receive truthful information about legal drugs in order to make a conscious choice in favor of a healthy, sober life.

A sober worldview, in which the natural, sober state of a person is recognized as one of the highest human values, is the only alternative to pro-alcohol programming of consciousness.

Sober feasts and sober celebrations are a natural alternative to the criminal “traditions” of alcoholic feasting that destroy present and future generations.

The goal of the sobriety movement is the sobriety of modern society. This is not “abstinence” from alcohol and other drugs, but the absence of motivation and desire to consume them, combined with an awareness of their toxicity. In other words, it is a state of public consciousness in which living sober is considered a generally accepted norm, and thoughts of consuming alcohol or smoking simply do not arise in a normal person and are regarded as bad manners.

The personal example of a convinced sober person is the strong foundation on which a powerful sobriety movement can be united and a sober worldview revived in society.

A participant in the sobriety movement is every person who lives soberly and sincerely strives to restore conscious sobriety in society, who is ready to act in this direction (first of all by personal example, as well as through explanation, persuasion, conducting sobriety-focused events, creating and distributing competent sobriety information, etc.).

Each participant of the sobriety movement may have their own political and religious beliefs, while not imposing their views on other associates. The political and religious views of an individual participant are not considered the official position of the sobriety movement.

Each associate independently chooses the direction and forms of their activity according to their abilities, understanding, and desire.

The most important thing we can and must do is to deliver truthful, scientifically grounded information to the still-unclouded consciousness of the majority, thus carrying out “prevention” of the pollution of consciousness with alcohol-related attitudes and alcohol customs. Such activity is far more effective than attempts to convince a person who already suffers from ideological or psychological dependence on alcohol or tobacco. In addition, people who have come to a sober worldview at the very beginning of their conscious life are the healthiest and happiest, and also the most valuable to society.

It is very important that sobriety be brought to the people by educators and medical professionals, cultural workers, and representatives of authority, as well as representatives of other professions whom people turn to for advice and help and whom they trust. These people are capable, by their personal example, of teaching sober living to children and youth. The system of upbringing of the younger generation must form a healthy society with strong immunity against all kinds of intoxication. From early childhood, in all preschool and educational institutions, it is necessary to teach every person not to be tempted by the artificially created “attractiveness” of poison, and to consciously resist all kinds of corrupting influences.

Therefore, we primarily address the most conscious members of our society — sober youth, sober parents, and educators who sincerely wish happiness and health for their children.

Do not remain indifferent!

If our people are not sobered now, in a few decades there will simply be nothing left of them!
