In fact, there is no point in making a huge post with lots of photos, since there is already a news article on this topic. Therefore, if you are interested in the details, you can follow the link. Here, I will try to outline a few key points regarding this year’s event and similar ones:
– overall, the trip turned out to be interesting and important. Another item appeared in my biography — I was sent to an all-Ukrainian meeting, met colleagues from different cities, and spoke at various venues in Kharkiv;
– it is better to send to the meeting those who already have a published book. The reason is that at the seminar, union-member writers recommend several participants for admission under a simplified procedure. Only one book is required (not two), and the documents are submitted directly to Kyiv (bypassing the local organization);
– age also plays an important role. If a candidate is already over thirty, it is better to send them, since later such an opportunity will not arise;
– it is worth carefully choosing the representative who will effectively be the face of the region. Writers will not give recommendations to graphomaniacs or underdeveloped writers, even if they have a book;
– if you have the opportunity to attend such a meeting, do not refuse. It is good experience and an embellishment to one’s creative biography.
That is essentially all I wanted to say. Read about our adventures in Kharkiv in the news article (link above).
