January 29–30: main events in Sumy and the Sumy region
Thus, on January 28, as part of the championship of the Children and Youth Football League, matches were held between three teams of the Youth Sports School — the Sumy team (“Sumy”) and the Konotop team, as well as the Konotop and Trostianets teams. Both matches ended in draws: the first 1:1, the second 0:0.
On January 29, in Lenzerheide (Switzerland), the 2023 European Biathlon Championships concluded. According to the results of the championship, the Ukrainian national team finished in the top three teams in the overall standings. It is gratifying to note that all three medals were won by athletes from Sumy: Anastasiia Merkushyna (gold medal in the sprint), Anton Dudchenko and Yuliia Dzhyma (silver in the individual race).
On January 30, the Kyiv Junior and Cadet Judo Championship took place in the capital of Ukraine. Athletes of the Sumy Children and Youth Sports School “Dynamo” won two silver medals (Sofiia Hrechka and Mykhailo Kreslin) and three bronze medals (Daria Sukhostavets, Ivan Mordovets, and Maksym Boiko).
