The 2nd All-Ukrainian Theatre Festival “Golden Suitcase”

The 1st All-Ukrainian Theatre Festival “Golden Suitcase” became one of the most high-profile events in the cultural life of the regional center in 2010 and attracted increased attention from the theatrical community. The Sumy theatre audience was presented with works by a number of leading Ukrainian theatres:

– Kharkiv State Drama Theatre named after T.H. Shevchenko – the play “Cello”;
– Free Theatre (Kyiv) – the play “Such Free Butterflies”;
– Zaporizhzhia Municipal Theatre-Laboratory “VIA” – the solo performance “On the Edge”;
– Kyiv Academic Young Theatre – the play “Uncle Vanya”;
Sumy Drama and Musical Comedy Theatre named after Shchepkin – the play “A Game of Love”;
Sumy Theatre for Young Audiences – the play QUO VADIS.

The 2nd All-Ukrainian Theatre Festival “Golden Suitcase 2011” promises to become an equally bright event in the life of Sumy region and the entire Ukrainian cultural space. Festival dates: November – December 2011.

For the second year in a row, “Golden Suitcase” is held with the support of the Head of the Sumy Regional State Administration, Yurii Chmyr

“Golden Suitcase 2011”. Program:

November 27 – Theatre for Young Audiences (Sumy) – the spectacular comedy by Yaroslav Stelmakh “Beloved Unloved”, festival opening.

November 28 – “Silver Island” Theatre (Kyiv) – “Natasha’s Dream”, a drama based on the play by Yaroslava Pulinovych.

December 1 – Municipal Theatre “Verim” (Dnipropetrovsk) – “The Seagull”, an attempt at a comedy based on Anton Chekhov’s play “The Seagull”.

December 2 – Shchepkin Drama and Musical Comedy Theatre (Sumy) – “The Parisian Woman”, a comedy based on the play by Robert Lamoureux.

December 6 – “Free Fly” Theatre (Sumy) – “The Laughter of the Lobster”, a play in two acts based on the play by J. Marrell.

December 8 – “On the Sidelines” Theatre (Kharkiv) – “Only One Life”, a dramatic story based on Mara Baydzhiev’s play “Duel”.

December 14 – National Academic Theatre of Russian Drama named after Lesya Ukrainka (Kyiv) – [email protected] (Norway.Today) based on the play by Igor Baueršima.
