New sowing with “Agrobusiness TSK”

The vegetables produced by this enterprise are in great demand among residents of the Sumy region; they are transported throughout Ukraine via large supermarket chains such as “Eco,” “ATB,” and “Fozzy.” Very soon, customers will recognize the company’s products by their branded packaging. “We are preparing to package carrots and potatoes. Our products will be recognizable by a proprietary logo. We will package vegetables in 2.5 kg and 5 kg units,” noted the founder of the enterprise, Hennadii Svirskyi.

Today, “Agrobusiness TSK” is engaged in the cultivation of potatoes, cabbage, carrots, and beets. The enterprise remains a leader in the cultivation of grain crops in the Nedryhailiv district. Weather conditions already allow planting to begin, but large-scale operations have not yet started.

“Agrobusiness TSK” is an example of how today in our region it is possible to grow yields comparable to those in Israel and other countries around the world. For example, this enterprise remains the undisputed leader in potato yields—360 centners per hectare. To achieve such significant results, first and foremost, the manager’s interest, attitude toward the work, and toward people are required. Implement the technology—get the result.
The enterprise “Agrobusiness TSK” has begun the revival of domestic vegetable production through the introduction of the latest progressive energy-saving technologies. To grow vegetables and potatoes, a new irrigation system costing up to UAH 20 million was built.

The management and specialists of “Agrobusiness TSK” constantly work on improving soil fertility, increasing yields, and the economic development of the farm. In the Nedryhailiv district, the company has leased more than 5,000 hectares of land that had not been cultivated for a long time, brought them into proper condition, and achieved high yields within two years. Today, “Agrobusiness TSK” has a modern machinery and tractor fleet and computerized equipment.

The enterprise is constructing modern agricultural infrastructure facilities. Comprehensive reconstruction and re-equipment works have been carried out at the farm, converting a grain storage facility into a potato storage facility with a capacity of 3,000 tons; a complex for sorting and cleaning potatoes has been installed. A modern vegetable storage facility with a capacity of 10,000 tons has been built. This modern complex has no analogues in the Sumy region. The new storage facility provides for container-based storage of vegetables. Separate storage chambers are предусмотрены for each product, with the necessary temperature and humidity regimes set. The best technologies available in Europe have been incorporated into this vegetable storage facility. The construction of the complex was financed by the enterprise’s own funds as well as UAH 35 million from French investors. The computerized storage system and modern equipment, enhanced with cooling technology, can compete with only two or three companies in Ukraine.

Construction work on a new potato storage complex with a capacity of 17,000 tons (which can be used as a grain storage facility with a capacity of 25,000 tons), utilizing the principle of floor storage, is nearly complete. The idea was borrowed from Dutch colleagues, although the method has been used for several hundred years. The construction of the new complex is a look into the future, as already this year “Agrobusiness TSK” plans to increase the area planted with potatoes. Two hundred hectares of the company’s fields were allocated to potatoes, and already this spring the area under the crop will increase by more than 100 hectares. Considerable attention is paid to the quality of the varieties grown in the fields of “Agrobusiness TSK.” Today these are the best crops from the Netherlands, Germany, and France.

The company’s employees play an important role in its development. The founder of “Agrobusiness TSK,” Hennadii Svirskyi, is confident that personnel decide everything. Therefore, he keeps his promise to increase the number of jobs in the region. Over the past year, due to the launch of the new vegetable storage facility, the permanent staff of the enterprise has increased to 150 people. For seasonal work, “Agrobusiness TSK” engages more than 200 workers. First and foremost, residents of local villages were provided with jobs. Wages are paid to employees on time and average UAH 2,900. Over the previous year, UAH 1.7 million was paid.
