“Friendly Circle” of “Panorama”
Meetings between readers and “Panorama” have been held for the eighth time already. Both Sumy residents and the editorial staff themselves look forward to this day.
This year, many residents of Sumy attended the small “family” celebration—the concert hall of the regional philharmonic was filled with guests: subscribers, advertising managers, journalists, postal workers from the delivery service “Postman and Partners of Panorama.”
The celebration began with words of gratitude from Yevhen Polozhii to everyone present: “Such meetings inspire us for fruitful work for a year ahead. We are very glad that you came to our ‘family’ celebration, because you—our readers—are our big family. We are united by a special mentality, we love our city and value truthful information. Justice, honor, and the struggle for ideals are important to us. Thank you for being with us, because without you there would be no us.”
After these words of gratitude, everyone present honored the defenders of Ukraine’s territorial integrity who died in the ATO with a minute of silence, standing.
The meeting also once again presented the project “Eternal Memory to the Heroes.” This is a book that highlights the stories of those who died from the Sumy region—117 people. Unfortunately, as noted by the project manager Yuliia Levkivska, work on the project continues.
Continuing the theme of war, Yevhen Polozhii briefly spoke about the two novels he had written and introduced everyone to the hero of the novella “Uncle Vanya” from the book “Ilovaisk”—Ivan Pohorielov, an ATO participant from Zaporizhzhia. When he appeared on stage, everyone present applauded the hero while standing. Uncle Vanya asked people not to forget that there is a war in the East, to help soldiers and the wounded whenever possible, and wished that those present would learn about it only from the memories of those who had been there.
Another surprise was gifts for “Panorama” readers: tickets to the theater, cinema, and philharmonic, as well as books by Yevhen Polozhii. As always, Fortune chose the lucky ones.
For the provided prizes, we thank our long-time friends—LLC “Knyholiub,” the “Kosmos” cinema, the Sumy Regional Philharmonic, and the Sumy Regional Theater for Children and Youth.

– I have been subscribing to the newspaper since 2001–2002. I believe it develops us comprehensively; it has everything that interests me. I always read it from cover to cover. As soon as I received my pension, I immediately renewed my subscription for the next year.

– I have been subscribing to “Panorama” for about 15 years, although I started buying it back in 2000. I look forward to every issue. I especially enjoy reading the “Editor’s Basement” column, which I often reread.

– For 10 years now I have been learning city news from “Panorama.” This newspaper reflects reality more fairly than any others, because it has no commissioned articles. From the very beginning, “Panorama” appealed to me. It often suggests how to live and what is really happening in Sumy. I would like materials to more often reflect the fight against corruption in the city.

I believe that as long as we remember the heroes, they will remain alive. That is why today it is doubly important to communicate with people who support the policy of our newspaper and who are interested in events in our city and in Ukraine, because our work is not finished—the work on the project continues, and the full story of each person is still being collected. I urge everyone who has any information about the fallen residents of our region: do not hesitate, call or write to the editorial office, we will listen to every story and together create the “Book of Memory.”

– Overall, the meeting of the editorial teams of the newspaper “Panorama,” the websites “Panorama” and “Vsi Sumy” with subscribers and partners was a success. The prolonged rain noticeably interfered. But despite the local deluge, people came to the evening: readers and advertisers—for which, of course, many thanks to them. The organization of the event deserves a five minus. Otherwise, I repeat, the evening was a success: a fairly clear and heartfelt presentation of the “Book of Memory of Heroes” and two books by Yevhen Polozhii, a moving and touching meeting with Ivan, one of the heroes of the book “Ilovaisk” (Ivan uttered a phrase that can be called an explanation of everything the country is experiencing today: “We were careless about what we had, first of all about peace” (not a verbatim quote)), a prize draw among subscribers, and a dynamic, positive concert by artists of the Sumy Philharmonic. Seeing off the people who came to the meeting, I heard positive feedback from many of them. Therefore, we can confidently say: the first “Friendly Circle” took place!
