September 15: how the new week began in Sumy and the Sumy region
War with Russia
During the day, from the morning of September 14 to the morning of September 15, 2025, Russian troops carried out 73 shelling attacks on 33 settlements in 17 territorial communities of the region.
The enemy used 25 guided aerial bomb (KAB) strikes, 15 UAV strikes, up to 10 missile strikes, and carried out FPV drone attacks and VOG grenade drops from UAVs on the territory of the Sumy region.
As a result of Russian shelling of the region, civilians were injured:
- In the Boromlia community, as a result of a missile strike on a wheat field, people harvesting crops were injured. Eleven wounded men were hospitalized, one of them in serious condition;
- In the Bilopillia community, a 38-year-old man was injured as a result of a UAV strike.
Objects of civilian infrastructure were damaged or destroyed:
- in the Boromlia community, about 30 units of agricultural machinery were damaged;
- in the Mykolaiv rural community, a private residential house and an outbuilding were damaged;
- in the Velyka Pysarivka community, buildings of a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
- in the Krasnopillia community, a tractor was destroyed;
- in the Bilopillia community, a private household was damaged;
- in the Vorozhba community, residential buildings and power lines were damaged.
On September 15 in the Sumy region, as a result of enemy attacks, the following people were injured:
- In the Trostianets community, a 75-year-old woman and men aged 40 and 51 were injured. All sustained minor injuries;
- In the Sumy community, during the interception of one of the enemy UAVs, a 29-year-old woman was injured by debris and was taken to hospital;
- In the Yunakivka community, a 69-year-old man was injured. He was hospitalized with multiple injuries.
Also today, on Monday, an enemy drone struck the territory of an agricultural enterprise in Sumy. There were no wounded or fatalities.
Evacuation
Over the course of the day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organizations, evacuated 9 people from border communities.
Charity and medicine
Volunteers of the youth initiative charity fund “Nadiia” delivered medical supplies to healthcare facilities in the city of Sumy, which continue to operate even under the most difficult conditions of war. The aid included medical materials, medicines, vitamins, bandages, hygiene products, and other essential items. Representatives of the fund emphasized that they systematically support medical institutions in border communities, helping hospitals and rehabilitation centers where human lives are saved.
Life
Last week, 27 children were born at the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Clinical Perinatal Center of the Blessed Virgin Mary”: 15 boys and 12 girls. Congratulations to everyone involved!
