Every person, upon finishing school, faces the first choice in their life, which can briefly be summed up in two words: what to do? Which profession to choose?
Today, our country needs highly qualified engineers, technologists, technicians, builders, and others. The agrarian sector also needs managers, economists, and lawyers—that is, specialists without whom the operation of enterprises and holdings would simply be impossible, as it is they who ensure their uninterrupted functioning within the legal framework. All these specialists are trained at Sumy National Agrarian University.
SNAU is a higher education institution of the IV level of accreditation that provides education in 25 specialties.
Theory and practice
In order for a newly trained specialist to be fully ready for work upon graduation, all necessary conditions have been created at the university. The practical base of SNAU includes 500 hectares of experimental fields, a vivarium, an apiary, an experimental and training orchard, a training ground of the Faculty of Mechanization, a machine and tractor fleet of 50 units of equipment, and a newly established energy training ground, where students master all the subtleties of their profession. At the Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of SNAU, an educational and scientific production laboratory operates successfully, on the basis of which practical classes are held for students. The Faculty of Law has a Practical Law Laboratory, where students learn in practice how to provide consultations on any legal issues.
Abroad for experience
Every year, a large number of students, postgraduate students, and lecturers have the opportunity to undergo specialized professional internships at farms in the United Kingdom, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, France, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries around the world.
For 16 years, SNAU has been cooperating with the German University of Weihenstephan. Our graduates have the opportunity to complete the Master of Business Administration in Agriculture (MBA-agri) program, and everyone knows that an MBA is a gateway to the world of big business.
Unforgettable student years
Over five years, SNAU students not only study but also live an active, interesting, and creative student life. Clubs, interest groups, art studios, and amateur performance groups operate at the youth entertainment center. Every year, the amateur arts competition among first-year students “Meet Us: This Is Us!”, the “Miss SNAU” and “Mr. SNAU” contests, the faculty talent contest “Our Pearls,” the student Vienna Ball, and many other equally interesting events are held.
